I have been married to fellow Trustee Richard Armishaw for nearly 40 years. I have two children, both married, and three grand children. I am now very much enjoying retirement after working full time as a primary teacher for over 30 years. I have had plenty of experience in dealing with people, challenging situations and multi tasking! I also enjoyed organising fund raising events.
I love travelling, music, photography and field botany I also play the violin in two orchestras and sing in a church choir. I feel very fortunate in living in such a happy and caring community as Hilltop.

Richard has lived in the Hilltop Community since 1970. Now retired, he was Bursar and Mathematics Teacher at a local Grammar School, where in addition to his main job he claims to have introduced some 800 teenagers to the hills of Snowdonia. He is married to Jan who is also a Trustee and their two children were brought up in the Hilltop Community too. Richard has been a Trustee since 2001 and Treasurer since 2005. His interests include walking in Kent and in the Mountains of Wales, Travel, Reading, Fine Wines, Photography and singing in two Choirs.

I have lived in the Hilltop Community since 1992. Now retired, I spent the last years importing wines and was a judge on the Internation Wine Challange in London. I was the HCA Treasurer until 2005 and I am the Thanington Without Parish Clerk. I currently run the HCA Web Site. I think we are very lucky to live in such a friendly community. My hobby which feels, at times like a full time job is golf, I play at Broome Park Golf Club.
